Documents & Info To Bring
We have listed items below that will help us prepare your taxes faster and more accurately.
- Current picture ID (State drivers license, State ID or military ID card) and Social Security Card (required for all bank products and Earned Income Tax Credit)
- Documents reflecting income such as Forms W2, 1099 INT, 1099 DIV, 1099 B, and 1099R.
- Prior-year federal and state tax returns if available (especially new clients).
- Self-employment income and expenses.
- Office-in-home information (real estate taxes, mortgage interest, utilities, etc.)
- New items placed in service for a business [date of purchase, date placed in service, amount paid (over $100), and name of the item]
- Farm income and expenses (same as number six for equipment/buildings placed in service)
- Rental of land and property for agricultural purposes
- Unemployment compensation (Form 1099G)
- Social security documents: (Form SSA 1099)
- Documents that reflect real estate taxes paid in 2009 (even if you don't itemize).
- Real estate rental and/or business income and expenses, including mileage.
- Prior-year depreciation schedules on any rentals, equipment, buildings, etc. (new clients)
- Contributions to pension plans (IRA, Sep, Simple IRA) or health savings accounts.
- Any IRS notices you would like to discuss.
- Information relating to the sale of real property including your personal residence (Form 1099S).
- Information regarding mortgage interest, real estate taxes, charity, business employee or medical expenses and any large ticket expenses where state-only sales tax applied. {Schedule A and New Homeowners Credit up to $8000 (HUD-1)}.
- Sales tax information on the purchase of a car, boat, airplane, or building materials in 2009.
- Auto or personal expenses incurred on the job.
- Information regarding a loss from a casualty (fire, theft, natural disaster)
- Gambling winnings and losses (Form W2G).
- Informaton on any household employees to whom you paid $1000 or more.
- Documents and information related to educational expenses (Forms 1098T & 1098E).
- Any estimated tax or other payments.
- Dependent care expenses including name, tax ID number, address of provider, and amount paid to care provider .
- Expenses related to a move of more than 50 miles closer to a job.
- Interest on any cashed EE or I bonds used for post secondary education, for yourself, spouse, or dependents.
- Were you eligible to be claimed on someone else's tax return? y/n
- Any expenses as a pre-college educator that were used to purchase books or classroom supplies for which you were not reimbursed.
- Any carryover credits or losses from prior years
- Any births, adoptions, deaths, marriages, separation or divorce in your family in 2009.
